Stengths:
For several years, IUPUI has had explicit diversity and equity goals for the campus. Moreover, the planning process associated with the campus diversity goals has broad representation of campus and community constituents. Every year the campus regularly evaluates progress made toward achieving its diversity and equity goals. The results of the assessment are published in the Chancellor's State of Diversity report.
Weaknesses:
Although IUPUI has explicit goals and a process to monitor and report on progress in meeting those goals, progress has not been as great as desired. The lack of progress in meeting diversity and equity goals has been a source of concern for students, faculty, and staff. In response the campus is in the process of hiring a Vice Chancellor for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
